Sarah Palin’s speech during the Republican National Convention made significant inroads with the American Gay Community.

“She’s like totally a gay icon already. She’s just so butch. We all think that it’s so sexy the way that she grabs a bull moose by the horns. We adore her.” said Franc LeBoi, a gay activist in San Francisco

Mr. LeBoi says that he and his friends are already planning holidays to Gov. Palin’s hometown of Wasilla, Alaska.

Mr. LeBoi’s life partner, Pick Johnston said:

“We’re so excited, and let me tell you, if Bristol wasn’t in the picture I would so ask that hunky hockey player boyfriend of hers to show me around, if you know what I mean. If we got married, I wouldn’t even have to change my last name. It’s like it was meant to be. Just kidding Franc!”

The couple hope that Alaska will allow civil marriages between gay couples soon as they would love to tie the knot in Wasilla later this year.

“A Christmas wedding would be so sexy.” said Mr. LeBoi.

Franc and Pick say that they are going to contact Club Med to see if there is any possibility that they might establish a gay club in Wasilla.

“Alaska is just so sexy.” said LeBoi, “It’s like, where have all of these hunky, hairy guys been hiding. We love Sarah Palin for exposing Alaska for the gay paradise that it is with the rest of the country. We didn’t even know it was such a sexy place until she came along.”

Palin is also making inroads with the Wiccan community as they appear to be identifying with her connection to the spirit world, speaking in tongues, experiencing religious prophecy and believing in the Holy Ghost and other spirit forms.

Sarah Palin; so unknown that even Republicans talking about her during the convention didn’t know how to pronounce her name (one woman referred to her as Sarah Polenti) took the stage last night at the Republican National Convention.

Her background as a sports reporter at a local TV station in Anchorage, Alaska helped her to deliver a rousing speech which electrified the Republican base at the convention. Of course, the speech was written for her. Actually, it was written by Matthew Scully, the former Bush speechwriter, and tailored at the last minute to make it less generic (it was prepared prior to Sen. McCain selecting Gov. Palin.)

McCain’s decision was a curious one and led reporters to start asking questions about the first term Governor. Who was she? Where did she come from? The McCain camp jumped over the media for prying too deeply into his selection, stating that they were being unfair. As far as I was concerned, they just wanted some information about the relatively unknown governor. She hasn’t been on the national stage before this and nobody seemed to know too much about her. To date, she has not been allowed to do any interviews on national television.

With some potential scandals quickly surfacing only days after her acceptance to run as McCain’s VP (i.e. An investigation into Palin for abuse of power during her first term as Governor, her desire to take Polar Bears off the endangered species list, wolf hunting from helicopters, her 17 year old daughter’s untimely pregnancy, speculation that Sarah’s last baby isn’t hers, etc.) the McCain camp called for media and everyone else to back off and not pry into the life of his last minute selection.

Obama immediately called on his campaign to respect the privacy of Gov. Palin’s family and publicly urged everyone associated with his campaign to keep focused on the issues and not to include Gov. Palin’s family in any discussion.

So what does Gov. Palin do in her first national speech?

She snidely belittles Sen. Obama by suggesting that he has as much experience as she did as Mayor of a Wasilla, a small town that had an estimated population of about 5,000 when she was there.

So the gloves are off.

Who is this woman who John McCain thinks is ready to be the leader of the free world?

Does she really want to compare herself to Barack Obama? Is she really that pretentious? Supposedly yes.

So let’s take a comparative look at Senator Obama’s and Gov. Palin’s resumes, side by side, shall we?

Give me a break.

After less than two years as Governor of Alaska, she is already under investigation. Prior to this position, she was the Mayor of the small town of Wasilla in Alaska. The McCain camp contend that this was ‘executive experience”, but what executive decisions has she made on a national level? At a local level even?

Cindy McCain and others have publicly (and embarrassingly for them) contended that because Alaska is geographically close to Russia, Gov. Palin does indeed have experience in foreign policy. Really?

I suppose what concerns me the most is that there are millions and millions of Americans who will listen to this and wave a flag with Sarah Palin’s name on it. That’s pretty frightening.
